Freestar is a publisher‑first ad‑tech company that manages ad operations for more than 250 publishers and delivers about 4 billion monthly impressions. To compete with media giants it needed an infrastructure that could scale from millions to billions of records and process real‑time ad‑optimization events (about 5,000 messages per second) without performance degradation.

Built on Google Cloud Platform using Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Dataflow, BigQuery, Kubernetes Engine and Cloud SQL (with a move to Cloud Spanner), Freestar implemented auto‑scaling, low‑latency data pipelines and real‑time dashboards at URL/UTM granularity. The solution sustained performance from 1 million to 100 billion records, enabled faster ad optimization, and helped publishers increase revenues by an average of 72%.
