A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Fracarro, founded in 1933, is a European leader in telecom signal reception and distribution with offices in Italy, the UK, France and Tunisia. After experiencing downtime and poor performance running SAP on a previous cloud provider, the company needed to rethink and simplify its SAP infrastructure to gain stability, flexibility and faster innovation while improving global collaboration.
Fracarro migrated its SAP production, quality and development subsystems to Google Compute Engine and uses G Suite for company-wide collaboration. The move cut SAP backup time from 4 hours to 7 minutes, reduced costs by about 70% versus on‑premises (and ~30% versus the prior cloud), halved SAP data transfer times, enabled rapid, low‑cost test-instance replication for experimentation, and improved cross‑continent teamwork — with plans to migrate MES and other services to GCP.
