A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Fit Analytics is a machine-learning platform that helps apparel and footwear brands deliver accurate size recommendations—powering 250 million recommendations a month for customers like ASOS, The North Face, and Calvin Klein. As the company signed larger retailers, growing data volumes and peak loads (300,000 requests per minute) threatened processing times, availability, and data-privacy requirements, making scalability and 99.99% uptime critical challenges.
Fit Analytics migrated to Google Cloud Platform, using BigQuery for analytics, TensorFlow for models, and Google Kubernetes Engine for microservices. BigQuery cut data processing times by a factor of ten (hours to minutes), GKE enabled easy autoscaling and 99.99% availability, and access to TensorFlow and managed infrastructure reduced maintenance overhead. The move supported faster product development and delivered measurable client benefits—conversion increases up to 11.5% and returns reduced by 4.4%.
