A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Travix is a global online travel company operating 35 websites and multiple brands across 29 countries, selling flights, hotels, car rentals and packages. The company struggled with slow, decades‑old Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) that could add up to eight seconds per search and needed a way to present modern, fast results at thin industry margins while handling frequent content changes and large query volumes.
Travix migrated its architecture to Google Cloud Platform—using Google Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Datastore and other managed services—adopting a microservices model, continuous deployment and .NET Core in containers. The move eliminated on‑premises servers, improved stability (zero major issues over a year), reduced error rates and administrative overhead, sped up query handling and deployments, enabled better BI/ML with BigQuery/Datastore, and supported continued double‑digit growth with lower costs.
