Financiera Independencia, Mexico’s first limited-purpose financial institution, began a digital transformation to better deliver microcredit services without requiring customers to visit branches. The company needed to handle large cash volumes, support mobile access and websites, and ensure low-latency, highly available infrastructure, so it turned to Google Cloud Platform and its tools such as BigQuery and Google Workspace.

Google Cloud Platform helped Financiera Independencia migrate its data center, data lake, and legacy systems to the cloud, centralize data in BigQuery, and enable real-time collaboration and offline mobile work with Google Workspace and Firebase. The results included almost 2 billion records uploaded to BigQuery, 7,000 mobile desks, server deployment in 5 minutes, backups reduced from a day to 10 minutes, 24/7 operations, and annual cost savings of USD 4–5 million.
