Vimeo, the video-sharing platform serving over 60 million creators and viewers in more than 150 countries, needed a faster, more reliable way to upload, store, and stream high-quality video at scale. Using Google Cloud Platform and Fastly, Vimeo sought to replace its own servers and reduce the infrastructure burden while supporting growing demand.

Google Cloud Platform helped Vimeo build an adaptive video-delivery service using Google Cloud Storage and Google Compute Engine, fronted by Fastly’s edge cloud. The new setup improved streaming speed and quality, scaled on demand, and reduced costs; Vimeo also freed its engineers from managing infrastructure so they could focus on platform improvements.
