Freightos, the Hong Kong-based digital freight marketplace and SaaS provider, needed a way to process hundreds of thousands of daily searches across tens of millions of shipping data points while improving agility for its globally distributed development teams. The company also wanted faster release cycles and a more collaborative workflow, and it used Google Cloud services as the foundation of its platform.

Looker was part of the solution alongside Google Cloud tools as Freightos modernized from a monolithic system to microservices on Google Kubernetes Engine, with BigQuery and Looker Studio supporting analytics and visualization. This shift helped speed up testing and deployments, enabled more autonomous teams, and made the platform more stable; BigQuery also powered daily updates to Freightos’s global container freight index.
