Experian From credit bureau to technology company with APIs

Experian, a credit bureau turned technology and software provider, needed to standardize its growing and fragmented API environment as acquisitions and custom integrations created isolated systems and slowed innovation. Using the Google Cloud Platform Apigee API management platform, Experian set out to make data access more secure, scalable, and customer-friendly while supporting its shift to a platform-based business model.

Google Cloud Platform’s Apigee helped Experian build a company-wide API program with a center of excellence, developer documentation, analytics, security, and portals for internal and external users. The results were significant: integrations that once took months can now take minutes or seconds, the platform has been deployed across multiple regions and company-wide, and Experian launched three developer portals and began onboarding business units like EMEA with up to nine API proxies ready for production.
