Everon Moving up a gear with microservices on Google Kubernetes Engine

Everon, an EV charging management platform based in the Netherlands, needed a scalable, future-ready way to manage rapidly growing demand for charging infrastructure and to connect drivers with charging stations in real time. The company chose Google Cloud Platform, starting with App Engine and evolving its platform as a service into a microservices architecture that could support multiple clients, automate billing, and handle smart charging.

Using Google Cloud Platform services such as Google Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Dataflow, Google Maps Platform, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Functions, Everon modernized its infrastructure, improved automation, and enabled near real-time invoicing and route guidance for drivers. The results were significant: Everon now manages 400,000 charging stations in real time, and performance testing showed it could handle 1.8 million charging sessions in 12 hours and 9 million transactions without scaling issues.
