Engie, a leading pay-as-you-go solar and mini-grids provider in Africa, wanted to accelerate customer acquisition and expand in Kenya by identifying high-potential areas with strong demand, good repayment capacity, and limited grid access. It turned to Google Cloud Platform through Atlas AI’s Aperture® predictive analytics service to answer where to focus sales and which customers and products to target.

Google Cloud Platform, via Atlas AI’s Aperture platform, analyzed geospatial, demographic, and market data to recommend the best expansion regions and tailor product targeting. In a Kenya pilot, Engie saw a 48% increase in monthly sales in the Coast region, validating the model’s recommendations, while the broader approach showed potential to support a USD 100 million+ annual solar appliance business in Africa.
