A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Enevo, founded in 2010 in Finland, helps cities and waste service providers transform the financial, environmental and social impact of waste by collecting and analyzing data from refuse containers. The company faced static collection schedules, poor visibility into actual needs and costly, outdated in-vehicle systems, so it aimed to deliver intuitive, consumer-quality devices and software that make operations easier to plan and use.
Enevo deployed wireless fill-level sensors and a cloud application that predicts container trends and enables demand-driven routing, pairing Google Maps Platform (with a bespoke Mapspeople map) and Android tablets for drivers to track GPS traces, confirm collections and report issues. The solution gives operators a live visual overview, improves asset utilization and right-sizes services — cutting the number of trucks and driver time needed and reducing customer costs by about 50%.
