eDreams ODIGEO, one of the world’s largest online travel companies, needed a more scalable infrastructure to support rapid growth, frequent feature releases, and expanding use of data, machine learning, and AI. The company wanted to move away from on-premises servers and improve time to market, customer personalization, and overall service quality with Google Cloud Platform, including Google Kubernetes Engine and AI Platform.

Google Cloud Platform helped eDreams ODIGEO migrate module by module to a cloud-based, containerized architecture, using Google Kubernetes Engine for autoscaling and faster deployments, plus Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Stackdriver Monitoring for supporting workloads and visibility. The result was a jump from 40 to 400 feature releases per month, dynamic scaling without costly capacity planning, and reduced customer lead time by orders of magnitude, enabling more personalized experiences and making IT a strategic driver for the business.
