A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
The European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM) is an independent “think and do” tank with offices in Maastricht and Brussels, about 70 staff from 20+ nationalities, working on policy and development across Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Facing a fragmented, maintenance-heavy IT landscape and frequent staff travel, ECDPM needed more efficient collaboration, better knowledge capture and faster, more accountable reporting to donors and partners.
Working with Qlouder, ECDPM moved to Google Apps and the Google Cloud Platform and built IMAKE, a process-support system (mail, calendar, docs, Drive, Sites and custom apps for deliverables, travel and reporting). The change shifted staff from siloed files to shared, real-time collaboration, sped up reporting and monitoring, improved knowledge management and accountability, and created a flexible platform for ongoing improvements such as a cloud-based CRM and interface upgrades.
