Case Study: Kapten achieves faster deployments and better customer service with Google Cloud Platform

Driving plans for expansion, with tools that put the development team in control

Kapten, a France-based private-hire vehicle service with more than two million customers and 50,000 drivers across Europe, needed to scale its real-time ride-hailing platform while improving customer service and speeding up deployments. To support growth and reduce disruption, the company turned to Google Cloud Platform, using Google Kubernetes Engine and Google Cloud analytics services for its back end and data infrastructure.

Google Cloud Platform helped Kapten migrate 135 microservices to GKE and move its data warehouse to BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Bigtable with zero downtime. The results included twice the deployment efficiency, more than 25 deployments per day, up to 100 ms faster request response times, and data lake query execution time cut by more than 200x in extreme cases.
