A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Drayson Technologies, a London-based developer of green IoT hardware and software (notably Freevolt RF energy harvesting and the CleanSpace personal air‑pollution sensor), needed a scalable, compliant platform to store growing international data, run complex electromagnetic simulations, and deliver real‑time pollution analytics for apps and research partners.
Using Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, App Engine, BigQuery, Dataflow and Pub/Sub), Drayson cut simulation time from eight hours to 14 minutes, builds real‑time pollution heat maps and personal exposure analytics, and ingests millions of sensor readings (over 2M in three months and ~600K/month). The solution freed engineers from infrastructure ops, enabled rapid global expansion and research collaboration, and delivered actionable insights into air pollution and health.
