Dolphin Technologies, an Austria-based insurance telematics company, needed a scalable, secure way to process real-time driver and vehicle data while supporting rapid growth and peak traffic. As its services expanded across insurers and hundreds of thousands of drivers, Dolphin Technologies looked to Looker’s broader Google Cloud-based analytics environment to help manage data-driven insights, uptime, and predictive services.

Using a cloud-based, microservices architecture built on Google Cloud technologies, Dolphin Technologies worked with partners to move to a dockerized platform and route data into analytics and machine learning tools for real-time and predictive decision-making. The result was improved uptime, stronger security, better scalability, and more precise billing and insights; Dolphin Technologies also reported that it could track more than 150,000 moving objects and was on track to double its user base within 12 months.
