Case Study: Dagangan achieves rapid rural commerce growth with Google Cloud Platform

Delivering opportunity to Indonesia's rural economy at scale

Dagangan, a rural commerce platform founded in 2019 to help Indonesians in remote areas access affordable goods, was growing quickly across Java but struggled with system reliability, peak-demand crashes, and rising VM costs in a multi-cloud setup. To support its expansion, Dagangan worked with Google Cloud Platform and partner Devoteam, using Google Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, and Google Workspace.

Google Cloud Platform helped Dagangan migrate to a more scalable, reliable architecture and improve collaboration across its teams. As a result, Dagangan expanded to 50 hubs across Java and reached more than 20,000 villages, while nearly half of the family-owned businesses in its network doubled their revenue.
