Deep Sky Vineyard - Customer Case Study

Deep Sky Vineyard, a family-owned winemaker with vineyards in Arizona and Argentina, wanted a better way to monitor and analyze agricultural data after an irrigation valve failure flooded part of a vineyard. The company turned to Google Cloud Platform and its IoT tools to gain more precision over crop management, equipment tracking, and grape-growing conditions.

Google Cloud Platform, working with partner niolabs, implemented a smart vineyard solution using Cloud IoT Core, BigQuery, Looker Studio, Cloud Pub/Sub, and Kubernetes Engine to connect sensors, manage remote updates, and visualize vineyard data in real time. The results included 15% energy savings, 30% labor savings, 50% crop efficiency gains, and up to 75% lower costs from human error, while also saving 1.6 million gallons of water annually.
