A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
DB Corp, India’s largest newspaper group with 62 editions in four languages and about 6 million copies sold daily (plus radio stations, portals and mobile apps), faced a rapid shift to online and mobile news amid declining print ad revenue and the disruption of demonetization. Its on‑premises infrastructure couldn’t support the move to real‑time publishing and data‑driven decision‑making, so the company set out to become an IT‑led business that could deliver continuous digital updates and better understand readers.
DB Corp migrated key sites and apps to Google Cloud Platform and adopted G Suite, Chromebox for Meetings, Cloud Speech and Translation APIs, Google Forms and Sheets, and network upgrades with Google and partner support. The result: real‑time, single‑source data for faster decisions; sales reporting cut from a week to two hours; reporters achieving about 95% accuracy using speech and translation for Hindi; and overall gains in speed, efficiency, collaboration and business continuity.
