Datadog: Giving Evernote unprecedented visibility for competitive cloud services

Evernote, the productivity app used by more than 200 million customers, needed a more scalable and secure infrastructure as demand grew and its private cloud could no longer keep up. The company turned to Google Cloud Platform, and also used Datadog for application monitoring, to migrate 3.5 PB of data and 5 billion user notes while improving visibility across its fast-changing environment.

Google Cloud Platform helped Evernote move 5 billion notes and 12 billion attachment files in just 70 days, far faster than the expected 9–12 months, with minimal customer impact. With Datadog and Google Cloud Platform, Evernote improved performance, uptime, and security, and freed up two full-time employees to focus on new features and development instead of infrastructure maintenance.
