Cornershop delivering groceries on-demand in Latin America

Cornershop, founded in 2015 in Mexico, is an on-demand grocery delivery service that rapidly expanded to become the largest in Latin America. To scale and give customers a mobile-first ordering experience, Cornershop needed a reliable mapping and routing platform to let users pick locations, track orders, and enable efficient shopper dispatch and delivery.

Cornershop built its apps and website on Google Maps Platform — using the Maps SDKs for Android and iOS, Maps JavaScript API, Geocoding and Distance Matrix APIs, and the Waze API for routing — to power location selection, address lookup, ETAs and optimal delivery routes. The solution supported rapid growth: 428 million MXN (~$21.8M) spent through the service in 2016, 1,000+ shoppers, over 85% of orders from mobile, and the ability to deliver orders within 90 minutes, with more than a million orders projected in 2017.
