Coop Group Making shoppers feel at home with a personalized experience across platforms

Coop Group, the Swiss retail and wholesale cooperative serving 2.5 million members, needed a better way to unify customer data across its 22 ecommerce sites and many physical stores. Its challenge was that separate analytics systems created data silos, making it hard to get a holistic view of shoppers and deliver seamless, personalized experiences. Coop Group used Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, as part of its data and marketing stack to centralize information.

Google Cloud Platform helped Coop Group build a single marketing data hub by standardizing data collection in BigQuery, with support from partner Trakken, and visualizing insights in Looker Studio. The result was a 360-degree customer view that improved targeted campaigns, increased return on marketing investment, and reduced BI and CRM workload by up to 60%. The company also processes more than 400 queries per month and analyzes 4 TB of active data monthly, while improving security, transparency, and cross-channel personalization.
