Connecting with customers online and offline with location data

Maxeda DIY Group, a Benelux retailer with 374 stores, wanted to better connect its online and in-store experiences while giving shoppers clearer visibility into local product availability. Working with Google Cloud Platform, specifically Google Maps Platform, Maxeda aimed to make it easier for customers to find nearby stores, check inventory, and choose the most convenient way to buy.

Google Cloud Platform helped Maxeda implement Geocoding, Geolocation, Maps JavaScript, and Places APIs across product pages, store locators, and checkout flows, with support from Web Geo Services. The results included a 50% increase in click-and-reserve orders, more than a 20% lift in online conversion rates, and a 10% increase in store traffic, while also improving inventory visibility and reducing delivery errors.
