A Google Cloud Platform Case Study

Preview of the Micepad Case Study

Connecting people through an interactive and personalized virtual event experience

Micepad, a platform for global virtual events, needed a way to handle highly variable conference traffic while keeping infrastructure costs under control. After migrating from another provider, Micepad adopted Google Cloud Platform services including Google Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Build to support its growing event workloads.

Google Cloud Platform implemented autoscaling through GKE, automated deployments with Cloud Build, and low-latency delivery with Cloud CDN. The result was 90% of the platform moving to GKE, seamless scaling for events with 20 to 5,000 participants, and a 60% reduction in annual server costs from about $100,000 to $40,000. Cloud Build also saved each developer about one hour per day, letting the team focus more on new features.
