Commonwealth Care Alliance Using data to monitor, react, and help patients with COVID-19

Commonwealth Care Alliance, a U.S.-based nonprofit healthcare organization, needed a better way to use timely, reliable data to support high-cost, high-needs members during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery and Looker, CCA’s Data Science team built an analytics foundation to deliver trusted information and predictive insights to clinicians.

Google Cloud Platform helped CCA create custom COVID-19 risk metrics and clinician-focused dashboards, known as action boards, in near real time. The team was able to update dashboards within days or even minutes, push consistent metrics across the organization, and surface service disruptions and member risk factors, enabling faster outreach and more targeted care for vulnerable members.
