Commerzbank Building security into the foundations of cloud banking with Google Cloud

Commerzbank, one of Germany’s leading banks, needed to move more workloads to the cloud without compromising strict security and compliance requirements. To do that, it partnered with Looker, using Google Cloud tools and an automated “invisible security” approach to protect data while supporting its cloud transformation.

Looker helped Commerzbank build a cloud-native security workflow that automatically detects, fixes, and reports issues in milliseconds using services like BigQuery, Cloud Logging, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Security Command Center. Since going live, the bank has eliminated many manual security tasks, reduced human error, and saved significant time and resources — including work that previously took hours to days and repeated cryptographic key provisioning that would have taken years.
