Commerzbank, a leading German bank serving millions of retail, small-business, and corporate customers, needed to move more of its operations to the cloud without compromising strict banking security and compliance requirements. Working with Google Cloud Platform, the bank wanted a way to protect sensitive data, reduce manual security work, and support its hybrid multi-cloud transformation.

Google Cloud Platform helped Commerzbank build an “invisible security” approach using cloud-native services such as BigQuery, VPC Service Controls, Cloud Logging, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and Security Command Center. This automated security and compliance tasks in milliseconds instead of hours or days, eliminated human error, and reduced the burden of provisioning cryptographic keys nearly 1,800 times. The result was stronger security, major time and resource savings, and faster cloud adoption across hundreds of thousands of assets.
