Clarify Using data to make traditional industries more efficient and sustainable

Clarify, a Norwegian software company helping traditional industries make better use of data, was struggling with the price, performance, and scalability of its original cloud setup as its time-series workloads grew. To support its collaborative industrial data platform, Clarify turned to Looker-adjacent Google Cloud services, including BigQuery and Pub/Sub, with help from Devoteam to design a more efficient architecture.

With Looker’s vendor ecosystem not explicitly named in the case, Clarify instead implemented a Google Cloud solution that used BigQuery for fast querying and storage, Pub/Sub for ingestion, and Kubernetes for scalability. The result was a secure, reliable platform that cut infrastructure costs by about 70%, reduced developer time spent on infrastructure by 75%, and improved load times from 3–5 minutes to about 500 ms, enabling Clarify to onboard a customer with 250 billion measurements in just a few hours.
