Preview of the Chauffeur Privé Case Study

Chauffeur Privé Keeping Paris' premium car-ride platform rolling

Chauffeur Privé, now Kapten, is a French private-hire vehicle service with 1.5 million customers and 18,000 drivers, and it needed a fast, stable way to calculate fares and update driver locations in real time. The company worked with Google Cloud Platform, using tools like Google Compute Engine and Google Cloud SQL as part of a multi-cloud setup to support its growing service across Paris, Lyon, and the French Riviera.

Google Cloud Platform helped Chauffeur Privé build a redundant, high-availability infrastructure with Google Compute Engine, Google Cloud Load Balancing, Google Stackdriver, Google Groups, and Google Kubernetes Engine. The result was smoother real-time processing, easier monitoring and access management, and driver positions updated every 4 to 5 seconds, while the team spent less time on infrastructure administration and more time improving the customer experience.
