A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
charity: water is a non-profit that brings clean, safe drinking water to communities in developing nations. To give donors, stakeholders, and the public clear visibility into its impact, the organization needed a way to make every funded water project transparent and accessible at scale—across thousands of projects spanning 24 countries and more than 40,000 mapped sites.
Using Google Maps Platform (with support from SADA Systems), charity: water built an interactive map that represents each project with rich icons and details, integrates sensor data (flow measured hourly and transmitted weekly), and reports status, usage patterns, and average liters per day. The result is continuous, web-accessible monitoring and reporting that lets donors see exactly where and how their money is spent, delivering a high degree of transparency and accountability.
