A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Bulweria, a UK-based IT company, developed the Car‑sharing Universal Platform (CUP) to manage car‑sharing in free‑floating, point‑to‑point and mixed modes. As the sharing‑mobility market exploded, CUP needed to ingest and analyze billions of data points and scale from hundreds to millions of vehicles rapidly; legacy infrastructure could not provide the required scalability, reliability or cost-efficiency.
Bulweria migrated CUP to Google Cloud Platform over three months, rebuilding the platform around Kubernetes/GKE and using Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Load Balancing, and Google’s ML, Speech and Natural Language APIs to enable fast, secure deployments, automated scaling and advanced analytics. The move let CUP handle terabytes of data per day and thousands of measurements per second per car, scale from hundreds to millions of vehicles in months, reduce costs, maintain a smooth user experience, and win global partnerships.
