Building a next-generation security data warehouse to democratize log analysis

Recruit, a Japan-based professional services company with more than 17,000 employees, needed a way to analyze security logs without depending on highly specialized engineers. Its security team wanted to build a next-generation security data warehouse for incident detection, forensics, and reporting, and chose Looker as part of the analytics stack alongside Google Cloud services.

Looker was used to visualize data in Recruit’s new security DWH, which centered on BigQuery and Cloud Data Fusion for low-code ETL. The solution democratized security log analysis, enabled faster report creation, and reduced the burden on the SOC. Recruit also reported significant cost savings versus existing solutions, and said the response had already exceeded expectations.
