Case Study: Crown Digital achieves scalable AI-powered global expansion with Google Cloud Platform

Crown Digital, a Singapore-based IoT startup, needed a more scalable way to support its AI-driven robot barista, Ella, as manual configuration, slow deployments, and limited capacity for high-frequency data transfers were holding back global expansion. To address these challenges, Crown Digital worked with Google Cloud Platform, using Firebase, Google Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, and Vision API to build a flexible, low-latency backend for its kiosk operations and AI workloads.

With Google Cloud Platform, Crown Digital reduced manual setup, sped up deployments, and gained the scalability needed to manage real-time data across multiple locations. The company also used Vertex AI and Vision API to improve Ella’s visual recognition for tasks like checking cup cleanliness, lid presence, and fill levels, helping it deliver a premium contactless coffee experience and scale more confidently worldwide.
