A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Bombora is the world’s leading provider of B2B intent data, aggregating anonymous behavioral signals from a cooperative of thousands of business publishers to show when companies are researching products. As its dataset grew (eventually exceeding ~200 billion documents), Bombora’s MongoDB-based stack hit scalability and export limits, slowing queries and preventing the launch of new, on-demand analytics products.
Bombora moved processing to Google Cloud Platform—using BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc, Kubernetes Engine, and Data Studio—to parallelize pipelines, speed queries, and avoid always-on infrastructure. The shift enabled new products like Digital Audience Builder and Company Surge, scaled analysis to 10x larger datasets (tens of terabytes and 200+ billion docs), improved agility and cost predictability, and helped drive 6,600% revenue growth over three years while increasing revenue per customer.
