Bodyguard.ai Moderating Social Media Content in Real Time with Google Cloud

Bodyguard.ai, a France-based AI startup founded in 2018, needed a more scalable and reliable platform to support its real-time toxic-content moderation service as it shifted from a consumer offering to a business model. It also wanted to speed up development and avoid infrastructure maintenance overhead while handling over 10 million comments a day. Bodyguard.ai chose Google Cloud Platform, along with Google Workspace and Google Cloud services, to meet these needs.

Google Cloud Platform helped Bodyguard.ai rebuild its solution on Kubernetes with GKE and Terraform, while using managed services like Cloud Memorystore, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, BigLake, Pub/Sub, and IAM to improve performance, security, and reliability. The results included moderation in under 200 milliseconds, a tenfold increase in processing capacity, faster deployment, and a data platform built in under a year; with Google Cloud Platform, Bodyguard.ai also reached 1 million ARR in its second year and tripled revenue between 2021 and 2022.
