BE International, a Malaysia-based direct marketing company behind the BE4U e-commerce app, struggled when its monolithic system couldn’t handle spikes from flash sales, new product launches, and month-end processing. The outages caused manual invoice work, customer complaints, and limited the company’s ability to expand across markets. With help from Google Cloud Platform and partner Matrix Connexion, BE International moved BE4U to Google Cloud.

Google Cloud Platform helped BE International rebuild BE4U on Google Kubernetes Engine with a microservices architecture, using Cloud Build for faster CI/CD and other services like Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Cloud Operations. The results were significant: it now supports more than 10,000 transactions per hour, batch processing dropped to 30 seconds for 200 records, month-end commission calculations fell from 40 minutes to 2 minutes, and some processes improved by up to 60x.
