A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
BBVA Microfinance Foundation, a Spain-based non-profit that supports vulnerable entrepreneurs across Latin America, needed to share a sophisticated business-intelligence tool with its partner microfinance institutions but was constrained by costly, hard-to-maintain hosted servers in Spanish data centers. The Foundation required a cloud-based, scalable solution that would reduce costs, enable broader access across Latin America, and avoid major disruption to operations.
Working with Google Cloud Platform and partner Nubalia, the Foundation migrated its BI infrastructure (using Compute Engine and CloudEndure VM migration, plus Stackdriver and VPC for management) in about a month with minimal disruption. The move delivered easy self-service control and on-demand scaling, faster development cycles, and a 50% reduction in server costs versus the previous hosted setup—without needing extensive DevOps expertise.
