Ather Energy Driving the future of mobility in India with BigQuery and Cloud IoT Core

Ather Energy, a Bengaluru-based startup and maker of India’s first intelligent electric scooter, needed a scalable way to power its AI- and IoT-driven mobility platform with a small engineering team. Working with Looker, the company used cloud data and analytics capabilities to handle rapid data analysis from connected vehicles, support route optimization and predictive maintenance, and keep infrastructure complexity low.

Looker helped Ather Energy turn data from 43 sensors per scooter into actionable insights, enabling monthly platform updates instead of twice-yearly releases and improving features like navigation, electricity use, and maintenance. The result was better rider experience, lower costs for both Ather Energy and customers, and the ability to manage thousands of scooters while generating hundreds of megabytes of vehicle data each day.
