A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
AppyParking, founded in 2013 to “take the guesswork out of parking,” set out to solve the famously difficult problem of finding legal, available parking in congested London and other UK cities where colored curbs and time‑dependent rules create confusion. The mobile app aggregates parking regulations and availability across more than 50 communities to show where free, paid, restricted or special spaces (like electric‑car charging and motorbike bays) are located.
To make that data usable, AppyParking built a Parking Platform that converts varied source formats into a single API and layered the results on Google Maps (using Places Autocomplete) for Android, iOS and web. The app color‑codes spots, provides navigation to open bays, and is live in 10 UK cities — helping more than 100,000 users find parking faster and with less stress.
