A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Apester builds mobile‑friendly interactive content—quizzes, polls and visual stories—for publishers, brands and bloggers. Rapid adoption (about 100 million unique users/month) exposed limits in its legacy BI and data‑warehousing stack: rising costs, scalability strain and constrained analytics that threatened growth and developer productivity.
Apester migrated to Google Cloud, using Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Pub/Sub, Stackdriver and IAM to create a fully managed, containerized platform. The move enabled true autoscaling and faster deployments, delivering 3.5 billion story experiences a year, tripling the user base, halving infrastructure costs, cutting deployments from ~4 hours to under a minute and halving latency—freeing teams to focus on product improvements and ML initiatives with Cloud Natural Language and TensorFlow.
