A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Allstate, the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in the U.S., aimed to strengthen its leadership in home insurance by creating a rich digital experience that would be useful to anyone—customers or not. The challenge was to build an engaging, personalized tool that used maps and street-level views to show homeowners practical, location-specific ways to protect their homes.
Using Google Maps Platform, Allstate launched the GoodHome web application featuring home visualizations with claim-risk overlays, geolocation, street view, real-time weather animation, address autocomplete, population stats, and tailored protection tips. Built in 90 days, the tool drove strong engagement: visitors who use GoodHome are over 350% more likely to get a quote, 40% enter multiple addresses, average session time is 6–7 minutes, and 20% of site visitors complete the GoodHome experience.
