A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Allianz, a global insurance and asset-management provider operating in more than 70 countries (New Zealand among them), relied on a central system called MIDAS to store and dispatch thousands of service providers. Although MIDAS had up-to-the-minute mapping data, it lacked key real-time dispatch, tracking, and situational-awareness features that limited assistants’ ability to respond quickly and accurately to members in need.
Allianz integrated Google Maps Platform into MIDAS to pinpoint member locations, identify the nearest providers, and add layers for addresses, services, travel time, traffic, and Street View. The solution delivered real-time visual dispatch, tracking, and communication, improved data accuracy across metro and remote areas, accelerated service delivery, enabled 150+ employees to adopt the tool easily, and supports more than 120,000 car breakdowns serviced per year.
