Allcyte Improving drug targeting with single cell imaging

Allcyte is an Austrian biotech that uses Pharmacoscopy, a high‑content single‑cell imaging platform, to predict how cancer patients will respond to drugs. When the company spun out of the Research Center for Molecular Medicine it needed a reliable, scalable infrastructure to record, store and analyze tens of thousands of microscopy images per hour without risking downtime or huge upfront costs.

Working with CLOUDPILOTS, Allcyte rebuilt its pipeline on Google Cloud Platform using Google Kubernetes Engine, Container Builder, Cloud Storage (Nearline), Stackdriver and G Suite. The cloud setup enables rapid, reliable deployments and heavy scaling: Allcyte processes at least 100 GB of images daily, expects to store ~100 TB a year, has a robust pipeline in production, and to date has screened over 150 billion cells and generated more than 200 TB of data.
