AI21 Labs, an Israel-based technology company founded in 2017, set out to improve how people read and write by building advanced natural language processing tools. To support its machine learning ambitions, the company needed scalable compute, reliable production infrastructure, and better ways to manage and analyze data; it used Google Cloud to power much of its ML work, and Looker Studio for visualization on top of BigQuery.

With Looker, AI21 Labs gained clearer insight into usage, spending, and revenue by connecting behavioral and operational data across products like Wordtune and AI21 Studio. The solution helped the team understand system behavior, improve experimentation and reproducibility, and support both research and production workflows; measurable results included scaling A100 GPU usage by 100x in a day, up to 20% savings from elasticity, and a flexible price-performance tradeoff of up to 7x higher cost for 2x better performance.
