A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
AgroTools, a São Paulo–based leader in agricultural intelligence, compiles the world’s largest repository of geospatial data for tropical agribusiness and monitors over 1,000,000 properties (about 200 million hectares). Facing explosive data growth from satellites, federated datasets and IoT—projected to reach 1,600 PB—and an on‑premises database that couldn’t scale or deliver fast analytics, the company needed a secure, managed big‑data platform to support real‑time, large‑scale risk assessment and sustainability monitoring.
AgroTools migrated to Google Cloud Platform, using BigQuery for rapid analysis and G Suite for collaboration, enabling more than 200,000 territory analyses a year across 1,151 data layers with queries that complete in seconds. The move improved performance and security, helped clients comply with socio‑environmental regulations, reduced IT costs by 32%, increased sales by 40%, and supported efforts—such as deforestation tracking—that protect the environment and food supply chains.
