Secretary Clinton Announces State Department Use of Chrome

The U.S. Department of State rolled out Google Chrome to modernize its browser environment and improve employee productivity. Historically the department required exhaustive compatibility testing before approving browsers, which slowed access to faster, more secure web tools needed by staff worldwide.

Using Chrome for Business, the Information Resources Management team rapidly deployed the browser and centralized administration to ensure consistent versions and quick security updates. Within two weeks Chrome was installed on about 58,000 PCs (roughly 60% of the enterprise), delivering faster startup and page loads, easier access to modern sites, and streamlined management for ongoing feature and security releases.
