How Biodot’s Global Team Works Better Together Using Android And Chrome

BioDot is a 60-person biotech-focused manufacturer of low-volume dispensing equipment with headquarters in Southern California and satellite offices in Asia and Europe. With a small IT team (one dedicated IT lead) and a highly mobile sales and manufacturing workforce, the company struggled to deploy and secure devices quickly, share time-sensitive engineering information across long distances, and control travel costs and slow manual workflows.

BioDot adopted Google Apps, Chrome devices and Android phones, managed centrally via Google Mobile Device Management and the Play for Work store. Chromebooks and Android devices enabled fast, secure rollouts, real-time collaboration on Drive and Hangouts, and quicker engineering iterations by uploading annotated schematics from the factory. The result: faster product development, simplified IT management, reduced travel costs (about $1,000 saved per avoided trip), and improved productivity across the global team.
