Chromebooks Give Back Time To Chapters Health System’s Patients And Caregivers

Chapters Health System, a provider of post-acute, palliative and hospice care in west‑central Florida, relied on mobile caregivers who needed fast, reliable access to clinical and business applications. Their Windows notebooks were bulky, slow to boot (3–4 minutes), time‑consuming to set up, and difficult for IT to manage, which reduced time caregivers could spend with patients.

After testing four devices, Chapters chose the HP Chromebook 14 for Business and used Chromebooks with Citrix XenApp access and the Chrome management console. Boot and login times dropped dramatically, setup for shared devices fell from about 40 minutes to under five, and kiosk and management features simplified security and user access—freeing caregiver and IT time and prompting plans to expand Chromebook deployment.
