TopTarif.de, a top-three German price comparison portal for electricity, gas, DSL and vehicle insurance, faced the challenge of identifying and reaching users most likely to convert while keeping cost per conversion steady. Although it had long used Google AdWords and classic remarketing, the company needed more precise targeting to turn interested visitors into customers.
By integrating Google Analytics with remarketing, TopTarif built granular audience lists and adjusted bids and messages based on signals like time since last visit, traffic source, funnel depth and keyword conversion probability. The optimized approach drove a 130% increase in conversions year-over-year and lifted the conversion rate by about 31.5%.
