Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, a collection of deluxe hotels in 26 cities and part of Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, faced a highly competitive search-marketing environment and needed to understand whether digital marketing spend was driving profitable bookings and which visitors were most valuable. Their goal was to track campaign performance and monitor user behavior so they could tailor advertising and landing pages for maximum appeal.

Using Google Analytics advanced segments, the analytics team created country-specific segments for AdWords visitors (Australia, the US, UK), discovered UK paid visitors had much higher average order values and different content preferences, and then tailored ad text and landing pages accordingly. After optimization they more than doubled visits and transactions from the UK campaign, nearly doubled the e-commerce conversion rate, increased average order value by ~30%, and lifted revenue by almost 70%, significantly improving per-visit value.
